BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Since 2000, Sockler Realty Services Group Incorporated has performed a wide range of valuation services across the United States. Within the past ten years, Sockler Realty Services Group Incorporated has completed revaluation and reassessment services for Ewing and Lawrence Townships, Mercer County, Cherry Hill Township, Camden County and the City of Vineland in Cumberland County. We have also served the assessors for more than 50 municipalities throughout New Jersey. As the official township real estate appraiser for Woodbridge and East Windsor, we have provided consulting and appraisal services with regard to tax appeals, open space acquisition purchases, and condemnations. These services include consulting on the merits of tax appeals, writing appraisal reports and Peter E. Sockler, MAI, CRE®, FRICS has given expert testimony in NJ Tax Court, NJ Superior Court and Condemnation Commissioners Hearings, with regard to these appraisal services. Sockler Realty Services Group Incorporated has also completed appraisal reports for banks and property owners of office complexes, warehouses, residential properties, industrial facilities, golf courses, utility plants, various special purpose properties and other income-producing properties across the United States. Specialty areas of practice include valuation consulting and appraisals that are utilized in litigation for assessment and condemnation purposes, tax appeals, equitable distribution, finance, marketing, and internal analysis and revaluation purposes. All of the appraisal reports completed conform to the standards of the Appraisal Institute.
Peter Sockler has been involved in the construction trade since 1978 commencing with assisting in residential home construction and throughout college. He worked for a custom builder as a framer upon graduating from college until securing a position as a County Investigator in Somerset County, NJ. Mr. Sockler has engaged in various residential and commercial renovation projects varying sizes since that time. Although not a primary source of business, considerable time and effort have been spent on a number of projects over the past 35 years. Most recently, in the past 10 years, site development, excavating and demolition work has been undertaken while assisting Atlantic Demolition in excavating, cost estimating and project analyses.
As an MAI member since 1992, Peter E. Sockler is responsible for not only attending the required education programs to renew his New Jersey and Pennsylvania Real Estate Appraisal licenses he is also required to attend National Conferences and lecture about appraisal topics at these conferences.
As a member of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) since 2003, Peter E. Sockler has engaged in various counseling activities relative to commercial real estate for ad valorem, condemnation, redevelopment, and various other litigation purposes. These activities have been conducted throughout the country.
Peter E. Sockler, FRICS has been a fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) since 2008. The expertise of members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors covers all property and real estate valuation and consulting related activities internationally. Peter E. Sockler has conducted these activities throughout the North American Continent.
